Greetings earthlings, My name is Sachin Shastri. I welcome you all, to my blog. I am a student of PESIT...But enough about me , lets talk about you. Do you like movies, tv shows..? Do your senses tingle when you hear the word "bazinga" or "Legen...wait for it..diary" or "Winter is coming"? Is the address you know better than your house "P.sherman 42 wallaby sydney" ? Have you ever pointed your pencil towards a heavy object and gone "Wingardium Leviosa!" ? Did you watch the Miley Cyrus VMA performance , and realize that your palm is covering your face? Speaking about facepalms , Did you know, Ben Affleck is going to be the new batman in the upcoming films?(went too far,huh?) If any of these answers are yes, CONGRATULATION! YOU ARE A POP CULTURAL......LY aware person.
WHO IS A POP CULTURE NERD?
A pop culture nerd is not one who just knows popular trivia. He is obsessed with it. A pop culture nerd is one who has probably seen the Star trek : Wrath of Khan 50+ times , cant emphasize more on the fact that HANS SHOT FIRST , never misses comic con, agrees that the Green Lantern movie was one of the worst things to ever hit the cinemas. They quote from various movies and shows ,almost all the time. They are also those people, who spend hours on 9gag and 4chan and trolling forums.

So why would anyone want to be a obsessed pop cultural maniac? Let me just give a few reasons why.
1) Life becomes much more AWESOME -
Remember the time , you first read/watched the Harry Potter series , or when you used to spend every evening at 5:00 ,watching Pikachu battle team rockets. Remember the magical feeling that would linger through out the day. Imagine how much more duller would life be if you never knew about Pokemon.
It's not just how interesting these shows/movies were, life used to become much more better thanks to these shows. Every situation becomes better and easier to explain by just quoting a particular reference to a show. It makes life much more hysterical and amusing too.
2) It actually makes you smarter (No really!)
You'd think that watching Breaking bad , playing God of War , and reading A song of Fire and Ice would have just made you more oblivous to violence and to the fact that your grades won't probably get you placed anywhere. You would have heard the never-ending ranting of how the idiot box is spoiling the children's minds and how everything they show on tv is useless garbage . Although , the last line is true to some extent( Has anyone seen the crappy cartoons they show on tv these day, ugh!!:( ) , most of it is bullshit!!
It is an obvious fact that the more you imagine, the larger is your perspective of thinking. The more movies you watch, the easier it is to imagine things, things like hypothetical scenarios or even contingency plans .
In most cases, it even improves your knowledge and verbal & social skills
3)It makes you a more interesting person-
Notice the difference between how Popular culture makes "Life interesting" and makes "You an interesting person". The difference is important . Alcohol makes your life interesting , but when you are hugging the commode and puking your guts out, you are not that interesting.
Pop cultural nerds unlike other variations of nerds are almost always a lot of fun. Nobody really hates these guys. Also at the rate, at which media is influencing everyone , It is more socially acceptable to be one! Haven't you ever become instantly friends with someone because of a pink-floyd hoodie or a common hatred towards Joffrey/Justin Beiber/ Edward ? My friends impression of Danish Sait/ Kapil Sharma kills in parties! Your weird actions are more accepted to a fellow pop culture nerd. I find sending Troll faces much faster than explaining to my friend why his oreos taste like toothpaste or why he is getting messages from matrimonial sites.
This way, being a popular cultural nerd is AWESOME. This post is just to give an intro to explain what this blog is all about. I will now be only mostly posting things in pop culture that will BLOW YOUR mind.........LIKE THE TIME , BRUCE WAYNE'S MOM BECOMES JOKER AND HIS DAD BECOMES BATMAN!
